About Jääde

Pronounced as ‘Yah-dey,’ Jääde beautifully blends the Finnish words ‘jää’ (ice) and ‘lähde’ (spring), reflecting the purity of its water source from an Ice Age-formed ridge.

Our Water

All Jääde water is sourced from the aquifer that sits deep beneath Finland’s majestic Salpausselkä Ridge which was formed more than 10,000 years ago during the Ice Age. Jääde water is 100% packaged directly from the source in a state-of-the-art factory situated in the City of Lahti, Finland.

Our water is filtered naturally by the ridges of Salpausselkä and is drinkable in its pure for, requiring no additional purification. Furthermore, our aquifer is hidden and protected beneath Lahti, one of EU’s leading environmentally sustainable cities, which was awarded the European Green Capital of 2021.

UNESCO has named Jääde’s source the cleanest water in the world in 2003. According to UNESCO’s global water study among 122 countries, Finland has the cleanest and purest water on Earth.

Spring water is water that has been naturally filtered by the earth. In our case, Jääde water is passed through the crystalline bedrock which provides the best natural filtration one can ask for.

Jääde has an extremely fresh, smooth and crisp taste, reflecting the landscape it comes from.

Jääde has a neutrally balanced pH of 7, making it taste clean and pure.

Packaging

Bag-in-box is one of the best and most sustainable packaging solutions for reducing the overall supply chain footprint. A 2018 study on Life Cycle Assessments (“from cradle to grave”) clearly shows that Bag-in-Box produces the best results in terms of a lower carbon footprint. Additionally, the design of the Bag-in-Box maximises protection from air, helping to retain the freshness of our water.
Yes, 95% of the Jääde’s Pure-Pak® packaging is made from renewable materials, making it more sustainable as it is derived from materials that naturally replenish over time. The packaging is also carbon neutral, meaning that all carbon emissions from its production are fully offset.

The Tethered Cap Pure-Twist Flip was designed to align with the EU’s Single-Use Plastics Directive, helping reduce plastic pollution. By keeping the caps attached, we prevent litter and make recycling easier.

Jääde packaging is recyclable, please follow local sorting rules.
